During the summer of 2012 I set up a high power 10 meter beacon on 28.283.80 to serve ham radio full time from beautiful and remote Humboldt County.

My home in Willow Creek is in the hills, but my wife (Anne KC8SUW) and I have another place on the coast in Arcata. The 2 locations are only 45 minutes apart, but have very different weather. We are both retired and so we can select the best weather between the 2 locations. I started to use my station as a 10 meter beacon when I was not at home, and recently set up a seperate 10 meter station for the beacon, using an Elecraft K2 at 98 watts into a Spiderbeam at 13 m, or a vertical on the roof of the shack (if I am at home using the beam). The beacon operates continuously (unless I am operating on 10 meters), and I welcome QSL requests if you hear it!
