Been a Ham since the 1950s,operating in those unblievable great Propagation years of the 1950s.My first station was a DX-20 And a VERY old Hallicrafters S-38 reciever.My first Contact was on 40 Meters CW.Got so Scared ,the day I got my Ticket, a Saturday, when someone answered my CQ , I turned my Rig off & Left the Ham Shack!!!But Came back later that Day & been going strong ever since.Also operated as a Maritime Mobile Operator on an Oil Tanker, sailing between The West coast of the USA & Europe.Those were FUN Days!!!! Been a Great Hobby, U get a chance to meet some great People.I travel all over the Planet & always take a rig with me ,Its great fun to operate in Strange Lands---Present Station is an Icom ProII, Alpha 9500 Amplifier, & a 3element SteppIR Antenna @ 19Meters--We have a winter Home in Palm Springs and a summer Home in the San Fransico Bay Area where I operate from---73s From W6CUP--Charly
