Retired March '10. Love to travel in our Motorhome. Did 20 years in the Marines, 21 years in technology for our local school district.
Since I live in a HOA, I am using my 21/2"diameter aluminum 38' flag pole with 5 feet of wire (over all 43') to a sgc-235 autotuner, as my primary hf antenna. I have my 2m/440 dual band, 220 and 6m antennas painted and running up several palm trees in our yard which somewhat limits my signal, but I love a challenge and trying new things alll the time. Latest antenna is a 2 wire 100'long about 6 feet above ground. Great rcv antenna, removes most noise I have here.
I do QRZ, eQSL.
Base Station --Icom 756 (hf/6m) with signalink, Datron (2m)with signalink, Icom 2720h, Yaesu FT-857D (all bander) with signalink, TYT TH-9000 (220), Bearcat 895xlt scanner, Ameritron ALS-600.
Everything 12volt is connected to a BIG AGM battery which is kept charged with a 100amp RV power supply that has a triple stage battery charger. If the 110 drops, everything will still be operating on the 12volt and I can turn off the equipment I don't need to save the battery or turn on the generator.
RV with HI-Q antenna--While on the road, 2m and 10m using the FT-857D
This is my new GO BOX setup ---Datron HT P25, Icom 2720 (2m/440), Kenwood TM-331A (220), FT-100D (all bander) with signalink
Antenna for GO BOX ---Shakespeare AT-1011/U (4-80), J poles (2m/440, 220), Wire with SGC-230 tuner
