Greetings!

Thank you for visiting this page. In 2011 I moved to Colorado. My new QTH is located next to the beautiful Carter Lake.

Ihave been interested in electronics and radio communication since I was 12. I did some CB'ing and SWL as a teenager. Fast forward 29 years to the present. In 2009 I decided to study for my ham radio license and I received my general ticket in March 2009. I started operating on HF in August 2009. In January 2010 I upgraded to an Extra.

My interests in ham radio includes DX chasing and ragchewing via SSB and digital modes. I'm currently learning CW. I do a little bit of contesting for fun. I look forward to meeting you on the air/waterfall.

My HF rig is a Yaesu FT-DX5000D. It's a fabulous transceiver with a world-class receiver and excellent DSP. For QRO I have a Tokyo Hy-Power HL-1.1Kfx amplifier. This little amplifier puts out 600+ watts with a 70w drive. My antenna garden consists of a Bencher Skyhawk tri-bander for 20m-15m-10m at 76 feet high and a Force 12 two-element yagi for 40m at 82 feet high. The tower is a US Tower TX-472MDP at 72 feet high.

On August 02 2010 I achieved DXCC by having my 100th country confirmed. Getting DXCC in only one year of HF operation using a G5RV was very challenging but also a rewarding experience. My goal in DX'ing is to make it to the honor roll. As of Mar. 2012 I had a total of 200 DXCCs worked and 181 DXCCs confirmed.

When I'm not on the radio I enjoy helping new hams and getting involved with club activities. I'm also an avid cyclist and amatuer astronomer.

I was born in Taipei, Taiwan. I'm a naturalized U.S. citizen and I also hold a citizenship of Taiwan.

You may QSL me directly or via LOTW/eQSL/Bureau.

73,

Jonathan W6GX
