Thank you for visiting this page. In 2011 I moved to Colorado. My new QTH is located next to the beautiful Carter Lake.
My interests in ham radio include low band DX'ing and antenna building/modeling. After years of operating mostly on SSB and digital only I have recently caught the CW bug! CW is now my favorite mode. I'm still learning this beautiful mode so please excuse me if I mess up on my sending. My paddle is a Vibroplex Iambic Deluxe.
My HF rig is a Yaesu FT-DX5000D. It's a fabulous transceiver with a world-class receiver and excellent DSP. For QRO I have a Tokyo Hy-Power HL-2.5Kfx amplifier. My antennas consist of a Bencher Skyhawk tri-bander for 20m-15m-10m at 80 feet high and a Force 12 two-element yagi for 40m at 74 feet high. I use the Skyhawk on the WARC bands via a Palstar HF-Auto tuner. For 80m and 160M I created a duobander vertical (50' tall) using two Cushcraft coils/hats and DXE tubing. The vertical has auto bandswitching and it works wonderfully in conjunction with a decent radial field (80 radials / 5,500' of wires). It's resonant on 1.827mhz and 3.525mhz. RX antenna is the new Array Solutions SAL-20. For 6m the antenna is an Innovantennas five-element beam. The tower is a US Tower TX-472MDP at 72 feet high.
When I'm not on the radio I enjoy helping new hams and getting involved with club activities. I'm also an avid cyclist and amatuer astronomer.
I was born in Taipei, Taiwan. I'm a naturalized U.S. citizen and I also hold a citizenship of Taiwan.
You may QSL me directly or via the buro. I also upload my log to LoTW.
