SteppIR 3 El w 30/40 Option. Tower isĀ 2 section Rohn 25G attached to side of garage.

3 El SteppIR w 30/40 Option I received my novice license in St. Louis, MO as WN0IPD at 14 years old(1962). Also held WA0IPD, WB6JPZ, and W6JPZ. Have been a ham for 54 years as of this writing. Became active in the 10-10 club while still in St. Louis. My 10-10 number is 732. Started with a Hammarlund HQ-145 and Heathkit DX-60. Later added Drake 2B. First SSB was Yaesu FT101B with Heathkit SB200.

Moved to California in 1970 and am now living in the Palos Verdes area of Los Angeles, just down the street from the old W6AM rhombic farm, now gone and replaced by homes. Equipment is an Icom 7600, ALS600S Ameritron amplifier and a DXA sloper wire antenna for 80 meters. Using a 3 El SteppIR on 40 - 6, Rohn 25G 2 section 20' tower & G800DXA rotor.

Spent several years as a factory rep for Shure Bros and ElectroVoice in the broadcast industry and then moved into the newly emerging field of Closed Circuit TV (CCTV). I'm now retired and enjoying renewed interest in ham radio. Other interests include hiking, bike riding, history (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Egyptian, and Early Civilizations, so far) and philosophy/psychology.

My QTH is on a hill about 1000' overlooking the Pacific Ocean which is my best DX area.

I am very active on 10-40 meters. Also a member of the K6RH Rolling Hills Radio Club and monitor on their repeater (information at www.k6rh.org). Also check out http://www.flickr.com/photos/w6va/
