Born in 1925 and raised on a 160-acre farm 7 mi. north of Park Rapids, MN. I was an Army radio operator in Europe during World War II and got my ham license in 1951. Retired after 40 years as a Linotype operator and machinist in the old printing trade where lead type was used.
