Original licensed in 1983 as a Novice, KA7PZK, and carried on many QSO’s with my Dad until he had a stroke in 1984. Lost interest and let my ticket lapse until I retired in 2002. Decided to get a new license and took both my Tech and General test on the same day, did great on the General but almost failed my Tech. Studied and worked hard to get my extra in 2004 and then applied for my Dad’s call in 2007, W7FYW.

I am a retired Chemistry teacher and my wife tells me that I am ADHD because of my many hobbies, Radio, Woodworking, antique Tractors ( 1940 Farmall M, and 1953 Ford Jubilee), Golf, and RV’ing.

My main interests are in DX’ing and Contesting and enjoy the challenge of chasing the rare DX stations. Someday I would like to get my WAS as will as WAZ certificate.
