I must thank my friend and elmer Larry W7WX for all the help, and encouragement so far, and he still is helping. And thanks to everyone else who has helped me along in this great hobby.
I grew up in a little town in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in North Eastern Washington State called Twisp. After High School in 1971, I moved to the Bay Area in California, where I worked in construction driving Heavy Equipment. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I fortunately got to retire kind of young and moved back to where I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, in 2004.
I run a Yaesu 2900 in my Jeep and a Kenwood TM 271 in my boat, and an IC2200H in my Pickup
In the Shack:
The first radio I bought was the IC706 MkllG, and not to long after that
I upgraded to the IC746 Pro, and use that for my main radio.
I use the Dentron GTL 1000 tuner for my main tuner
I use the Audio-Technica ATR-30 boom mic and like it so much I bought a second one to use with the IC706MkllG
For power I use the AL80B Amp.
On my roof I have a 4 band wire fan dipole for 80,40 20, and 10 meters.
I also put up a 160 inverted v wire dipole this summer
I put up the TH6DX Oct 2,2012 and I LOVE it
I have a 2 meter and a 6 meter antenna on the tower and on top of that I put my Imax 2000 vertical. It is a beautiful thing. IMO. That is my set up for now.
I am involved in our local Ham club, The Okanogan County Amateur Radio Club. W7ORC
