Summer daytime temperatures average around 80F while winter sees occasional snow and average daily temperatures of about 40F. Total annual precipitation is between 10 and 13 inches. County: Deschutes; Grid: CN94he; CQ Zone: 3; ITU Zone: 6. Amateur operator since 1959 with two previous periods of activity, 1959-1961, Evanston, IL and 1970-1971, Champaign, IL, as K9TTE. Active on 160 thru 6m, working mostly DX, IOTA, lighthouses and special event stations. Modes: CW, SSB, and several digital modes. Current equipment: Elecraft K3/P3, QS1R SDR, Alpha 8410 and Palstar Auto-AT KL matchbox. Antennas are a SteppIR DB-36 and a DXE Thunderbolt vertical modified for 160 and 80 m. I reply to all QSL cards and I make frequent LoTW uploads. Cards received via the bureau will be replied to via the bureau.
