The Marinette & Menominee Amateur Radio Club became affiliated with the ARRL in 1949, received club #2234, and observed its 50th anniversary of the charter in 1999/2000. We are now in our 60th year, and will reach a milestone in 2009, reaching 60 years as an ARRL affiliated club. Meetings are held the 2nd Thurs. of each month at 7pm in the meeting room of Spies Public Library in Menominee, MI. June, July, and August meetings are held at Henes Park in Menominee. We currently have over 50 members on our roster, and are active within the local emergency government program, and Skywarn. Our members range in age from 10 years to 80+. Many activities are provided for our members including Field Day, Special Event lighthouse station, Charter banquet, annual picnic, Michigan and Wisconsin QSO parties. We conduct radio licensing classes, and several VE sessions each year for new licensees and upgrades. We have licensed over 30 new hams since 2004. M&M ARC operates two repeaters: the 147.000+(107.2pl) machine The 147.000 repeater is home to the long standing and popular M&M ARC Kandy Net heard each Sunday at 7pm CST. Our club has long been committed to promoting and extending ham radio to youth. We were the guiding force behind the establishment of the K8DAR ham station in the local Menominee/Marinette D.A.R. Boys & Girls Club. We also offer testing several times a year through the ARRL VEC The picture below shows our Special Event station at the Menominee Waterfront Festival in 2008.
