Thanks for looking up my call information with QRZ.com. I enjoy exchanging QSL's, so please send me yours. SASE is very helpful. I am 71 and retired. However, I am a part-time Pastor for the First Baptist Church in Morenci, MI. So, I keep very busy. This is a new QTH for me. I was at Blissfield, MI, for 10 months in 2007-08; and in Sand Creek, MI for 24 years, prior to that. I was first introduced to ham radio when I discovered it on my folks Zenith console radio as a young boy in grade school. My dad introduced me to a "real ham", W8ZOO, sk and I was forever "hooked". I have been a active ham since receiving my first ticket, Novice, WN8VFM, January1955, while in High School. I work mostly cw and still enjoy ragchew, the cw sprints and making a new contact each day. I also do some mobile and portable operation. I still enjoy going to the hamfests and seeing what's new and reminiscing over the old gear. Since 1996, I have been operating mostly QRP. There is so much great activity amoung the QRP folks. It is a joy to be part of this enthusiastic group of hams and enjoy the "magic of radio" all over again. I enjoy building the various kits, especially the Elecraft units. I maintain memberships with ARRL, ARCI, QCWA, FISTS, SKCC and numerous QRP groups. I have been blessed with many helpful "Elmers" over the years. I am cultivating ham radio interest with some of my grandchildren and hope to pass on this great hobby to them. Again, thanks for stopping by, God bless and 73, Ned Last modified: Thu Oct 22 12:21:49 2009 Does this page contain inappropriate content? If so, Report this page... |
