Thank-you for looking at my biography page. I have been licensed for 49 years when I received my Novice call WN8NYQ in Ohio.
I live in the small town of Whiteland, Indiana EM69XN in Johnson County.
My main interests are DX and contesting with an ongoing quest to work all counties (249 to go).
My primary station consists of a ICOM IC-7600 into a 43 foot vertical tuned by a Palstar AT -TUNE automatic tuner. My Kenwood TS-940 is still used as a back-up and on RTTY. My logging program is AClog by N3FJP. And I also use his contest programs. Please check out his website, N3FJP.com.
My other station consists of some of my collection of Collins equipment.
It consists of a KWM-2, 312B-5 and 30L-1 on 20 meters and a 75S-3B, 32S-3, 312B-4 on 40 meters. Also in use are two 51S-1's for general listening. I use Collins SM-1, SM-2 and SM-3 microphones.
The other operating position is a 75S-3A, 32S-3 and 312B-4 on 15 meters.
I send eQSL's via eQSL.com or LoTW on all contacts.
I have just gotten interested in Digital modes using HRD and DM780 working mostly PSK31 on all bands.
My interface is a RigBlaster Advantage.
I retired 13 years ago from IBM here in Central Indiana servicing large systems and large laser printers.
I have worked for the Bargersville Fire Department as a paid Volunteer for 20 years so when I retired I went to work for Wishard Ambulance in Indianapolis which is the primary 911 ambulance service serving all of Marion county. The service has now become Indianapolis EMS as part of the Department of Public Service, along with Indianapolis Fire Dept. and the Indianapolis Police Dept.
My oldest daughter, Heather, works for Indianapolis EMS at IFD station 41 on C Shift as a Paramedic and her husband works as a Paramedic at TransCare ambulance and part time at the Greenwood Fire Department. My other daughter, Holly, works as a small animal Vet. Tech. with a Purdue Major in Emergency Medicine. And her husband is an Officer with the Indianapolis Police Department. My spare time is spent with 4 great grandkids. I also do alot of outdoor photography with Dick Farrow, N9BNO, another collector of Collins equipment. We photograph mostly covered bridges, railroad stations, round barns and any old structures we may find.
Again thank-you for looking and thank-you for the QSO.
