First licensed as WN9PJK in 1954 (Novice Class). Later, I upgraded to Technician, General and finally Amateur Extra Class. I started out in NW Indiana.
Joined the US Navy in 1964 and operated some phone patches back to the states while on Mediterranean cruises. My last assignment was on a Swift Boat in Vietnam. Afterwards, moved back to Indiana and started my career with ALCOA (Aluminum Company of America). Later moved to Pennsylvannia and finally settled in Iowa in 1980. I was off the air from 1988 until April 2013, My favorite mode is CW. In 2001 I retired from ALCOA.
