Born in 1941, Mike has been involved in the electronic field since 1959 and designed & built real-time flight simulators for 27 years before retiring in 2008.

His interest in radio was fueled by listening to communications on Halicrafters, Heathkit, and Collins receivers in the 50's and more recently on a Uniden BCD996T Trunktracker IV digital scanner and the iCom IC-R20/IC-R7000 and Yaesu VR-5000 wideband communications receivers. Having attained his Amateur Extra license, Mike is on the air with Cushcraft R8,AR-270B Verticals and Wideband Discone connected to a Kenwood TS-2000 HF/VHF/UHF All Mode Multi Bander transceiver or Yaesu FT-2000/DMU-2000 HF/50MHz transceiver.

A cozy retirement hobby and reward for making it this far. For portable operations, a Yaesu VX-8R Four Band with GPS and Kenwood TH-F6A TriBand Handi Talkies provide repeater access. ARRL Lifetime Member

Mike also has an alter-ego named "The Ole Geezer" appearing periodically on the IRN/USA Radio Network as the host of Mick Williams' Cyber Line technology show.
