I Don't remember when I first got my ham license I think it was 1978 back then it was a novice license. I took my test and waited 6 weeks and others who took the test at the same time got their call signs. I called the FCC and they said I would have to retake the test so I did that and in about 2 weeks I received 2 call signs so again I called the FCC and they said just pick one and tear the other one up. My 2 calls were ka7fll and ka7exp so I picked what would have been my first call. then upgraded 1 test at a time and stopped at advanced and took the vanity call of wa7tc in 2010.
