2012 CQWW SSB - Another chapter in the adventures of Wild Bill & Ellen took us to the Philippines. Our gracious host Joey, DU1BP, and his family helped immensely and in turn we helped him as well. We had a number of local hams join in the fun during set up and operating in the contest. We all had a great time, lots to eat and hope to get back there one day! There is a lot of WWII history there and many things to see.
2011 CQWW SSB - Yet another grand adeventure that took us to Rarotonga, South Cook Islands where we operated as E51Z. We had a tremendous amount of help from Victor Rivera, E51CG - E51USA and his lovely wife Eleanor. Also from Jim, E51JD and Bob, E51BQ. All great hosts that really showed us a great time while we were there! The Cook Island Newspaper had Rachel Reeves come out to interview our group. She put together a great article and here's the link: Raro Airwaves. I did some time on ten meters using E51BFG, so QSL cards for that go to my home call. From there, four of us went on to ZL land for some exploring. While there we had the pleasure of meeting Al Wilson, ZL1BD. Only wished that we had more time there to visit with him, a great guy for sure!
2010 CQWW SSB - An opportunity of a lifetime to operate from Qatar as A73A. An incredible adventure to a part of the world I had never been to before. Our hosts were most gracious and we had a fantastic time! 2010 October 19 - If you've been waiting for a QSL card via the bureau - My latest backlog of Bureau Cards (A pound and a half (all calls) was delivered to ARRL Headquaters today. 2009 CQWW SSB - Operated from Jersey Island as GJ2A. Thanks to fine folks of the Jersey Amateur Radio Society club station there. We had a great time! 2008 CQWW SSB - Operated from Tela Honduras with the HQ3Z contest team. Most of us were there from 16 October 2008 through 1 November 2008. Thanks to everyone who made contact with us. We really appreciate it! QSL's for my HR3/WB6BFG operations go tomy home call. 1/23/09 Update: All QSL cards (including one SWL card) received via direct were replied to via USPS. Thanks to those that sent cards!
