I have a Kenwood TS-2000 Radio, and am able to be on the air by using the computer to control all my shack with the trackball [mouse] and on screen keyboard. I use a terrific program from trx-manager.com that gives me full control of the radio. My log software used is Logic 9.
The antenna's include a G5RV 6 - 80, 40, 30 meters, and a Steppir 4 Element Beam at 50 ft.
The hobby has given me a new lease on life as I meet new friends around the world. I only have use of my right hand to use a trackball to control my entire station from bed. I cannot move any other of my limbs at all and enjoy the hobby once again thanks to many who have helped. W4KN Bobby, who is more a brother is my station engineer, taking care of my station.
God has Blessed
I am having to operate from my [ STUDIO B ] or bed lots right now.
Do you have a ham radio auto license plate ? After working all states I thought of having a ham auto tag from each state. Can you help my collection grow? Email if you have a tag, wharrell at arrl.net
I am on the Geratol Net during the seaon on 3.668, and check into the YL System on 14.332 and 3905 century club on 3.902. I enjoy the OMISS net when I can check in.
I can make Turner County available for any county hunters. You can copy me through the International Space Station on packet and hear me from EM81 during 6 meter band openings. I enjoy working QSO Party's and cw as well. Yes CW and cannot use a key, so I use the computer for sending and copy in my head, making notes in notetab in windows xp with on screen keyboard. You can catch me on psk31 and rtty quite often.
I was born October 3, 1949 and have made my home in Sycamore Georgia my entire life. From childhood I've had Fibrodisplasia Ossificans Progressiva, one of the rarest, most disabling genetic conditions known to medicine, affecting only 700 people World Wide. Basically intensified calcium deposits that restrict my joints from moving. With this disease my Jaws are locked shut and I talk through clintched teeth, sometimes causing my audio to sound like there is RF in my audio.
I am in a wheelchair, but enjoy life and people. Not being able to attend college I have studied electronics with the jelp of Mr. Royce Hanner, at home since graduating high school in 1967. Until 1976 I was not in a wheelchair. It was when I had to use the chair I decided to study and get my Amateur Radio License, and received it in 1977. I bought my first computer in 1979, [ the Radio Shack Model 1 ], only 2 years after getting my Amateur license. Since that time I have combined the Radio and computer hobbies. In January 2011 at age 62 I started classes with DeVry University studying Web Graphics Design. I received my Associate Degree in Web Graphic Design in 2013 and maintained a GPA of 3.82.
Amateur radio and computers still have my attention even more than when I started. I spend most days on the air and on the internet.
The most important thing that has helped me through life with my medical problems is being a Christian. Jesus has Blessed my life in more ways than I have room here to share. My web page http://www.wayneharrell.com has more details about my life and how Jesus has Blessed me through the years. I hope to have you visit the link on this page. Visit http://www.comemeetjesus.com as well.
