OLD HISTORY: UF7V DxPedition Team 1990 - First Americans issued a licensed to operated in Soviet Georgia.1991-2 UA3A, UA6A ops. additional ops- /VP9, /C6, /PJ2, V26Z, VP2MBJ. Retired RN in 2006 .
Presently, the station consists of an Icom 7700,Alpha 9500and a Ten Tec Eagle. For the Digi modes, I use a Navigator. For travel , a Ten Tec Eagle, with a NUE-PSK or TT712 cable and NetBook. A station upgrade in July- I retired the PW-1 amp and am installing an ALPHA 9500. The free TEE shirts from ALPHA were the clincher, Hi Hi !!
A K3 has joined my station , along with a P3. After much harassment from my K3 owning friends, I decided to get a New Year Present. Now to begin the learning curve. I have just added a KPA500 to take along on trips. I just renewed VP2MBJ - a place to escape the cold winters !
Antenna Farm is a 55 Foot US Tower with Optibeam OB11-5 and OB 40-30. The 80 meter antenna changes when the weather destroys the wire! A horizontal Dipole at 55 feet will soon be replaced with a full wave Delta Loop. Portable loop and wire antennas from a 10m fiberglass pole fit into my Toyota nicely. I can be found most days on PSK and CW. . After 25 years of avoiding CW, I am enjoying this "NEW" mode with a custom Vibroplex Iambic, Begali Sculpture and Schurr.
My XYL likes to travel and encourages trips to the Maritime DX Conference, SEDCO and Dayton. We have enjoyed hosting several DX hams on their visit to Niagara Falls. Hope we meet on the air and have a QSO. I can pack up a station and head on Dxpedition on a moments notice !
