Thanks to all those who contacted me on HF during the ARRL Centennial QSO Party and as part of W1AW/KP4 it was an unforgetable experience to meet new friends on the airwaves. Gracias a todos!

 

Taking a break, Meeting New Friends, and enjoying Paradise! Thanks to the Organizing Committee of the 3rd ARRL PUERTO RICO STATE CONVENTION in the city of Hatillo for another unforgettable weekend! The 4th Convention will be on January 29-31, 2016.

 

Took a break from the Centennial QSO Party to operate as part of the team of the second W1AW/KP4 Operation from November 26 - December 2, 2014. Here on Dec.2 @ 1745 UTC on 24.965Mhz

Total success! The 2nd ARRL Puerto Rico State Convention held January 24-26, 2014 in the Francisco "Pancho" Deida in Hatillo, Puerto Rico. In the ARRL booth is ARRL CEO Dave Sumner-K1ZZ, ARRL President Kay Craigie-N3KN, New ARRL Southeastern Division Director Doug Rehman-K4AC, the Mayor of the city of Hatillo José "Chely" Rodriguez, Puerto Rico Section Manager René Fonseca-NP3O, Puerto Rico Public Information Coordinator Angel Santana-WP3GW and Convention organizer José "Coki"  Montijo-WP4OV. CQ WW SSB 2003-04, 2006-07; WAE 2001-02; Russian Activitry Contest 2004, SAC 2001-02, 2006; IARU 2001-02 and 2005-13; WAC on 2003, WAS on 2007 (SSB) and 2009 (Mixed); DXCC Phone #32.979 on January 28, 2003, eDX100 and ARRL International DX contests 2002-03 and 07. CQ DX Marathon 2009 /2010 for Country and Zone. My wall says it all.

Achievements: Participation on Field Day since 2001, ISS voice contacts with Valery Korzun, Mike Fincke, Bill McArthur and Charles Simonyi. Three ARRL internet courses: Level 1 Emergency Communications, Amateur Radio Satellites, and VHF Beyond the Repeaters. Qualification of Isla de Cabras PUR012S for the USi program on WARD 2008 via KP4DJ now with the call KP4FD

Equipment: ICOM-718, Yaesu FT-840; Kenwood TH-D7(G). Antennas: Cushcraft AR-2, MA5B, 20/40/80m wire dipoles.
