Hello to all at your site!!

We like to let you know about whats were going on here at Kp4-land. As you know this next edition of the International Light House & Lightship weekend took place on august 16-17, 2014.

A great opportunity for let the world know about this light-house activation and his restoration needs, but not only that, also a new qualification and activation for the USI island award program, an activation for a local contest of work full KP4. An alliance has been done with the Culebra's Foundation for set the land on the map letting know the world that historical building needs to be kept for future generations. The foundation gonna be celebration their 20 years as our way, DOING GREAT HAM RADIO!!

The opportunity now is a reality after a year of work, this activation had transform into Culebrita's DxPedition 2014. An Unhabitated place, with no water, no electricity, no celular, no internet.. just ham radio stations and a paradise!

            4 Full HF stations running SSB, CW, PSK/RTTY on HF and 2 meters fm plus APRS.

            - Yaesu Ft-857D with g5rv for CW and digital HF

            - Yaesu Ft-857D with 3 element TH3-JRS for HF and 2 meters with 4 element Yagi

            - Kenwood TS-480hx with 3-band 2-glass Cubical Quad by kp4bd 

            - Yaesu Ft-840 with S9 and double bazooka 40-80 on HF 

Full camping equipments, electric generators, and some food with a long-long trip is ahead.

First a car trip, then 2 boat trips and a very interesting walking through and up until top of the island where the lighthouse awaits for us.. 4 days, 3 nights and a lot of DX!

Mis saludos.

Comencé a trabajar con radio desde el año 1995 con los 27mhz en el pueblo querido de Las Piedras, PR. Yo era un niño para ese tiempo y me entretenía con una base midland blanca mientras me cuidaban en casa de mi abuela. En ese tiempo mis padres se divorciaban. Al mudarnos para otra casa, pero aún en Las Piedras, mi madre de regalo de cumpleaños me entrego un radiecito cb uniden xl510 que todavía conservo, luego compre un power supply de 5 amp y utilizaba una a-99 en 18 pies tubo sobre el techo que yo mismo instalé.

Estuve 15 años trabajando 11 metros, mientras tambien me hiba forjando en el campo de la informática y electrónica. Al dia de hoy soy IT Technician, (Tec. computadoras y redes [ara sistemas de seguridad). Tambien luego de 15 años mas o menos en la radio decidí tomar el exámen para la primera licencia. Tome clases en Humacao con Joseph Rentas, estudie mucho el libro y logré mi primer indicativo wp4ocj. 5 meses despues me aventuré para General lograndolo, esta vez estudiando sólo con el libro. No me detuve ahi, continué estudiando. El 6 de febrero de 2011 asistí al hamfest del norte donde me aventure a tomar la última licencia, y lo logré. EXTRA CLASS.

El 8 de Noviembre de 2011 se me aprueba el vanity de WP4I.

Clubs: Puerto Rico Amateur Radio League & American Radio Relay League.

Al momento me escucharan en las bandas desde 70 cm hasta 80 metros. Fonia, rtty, psk-31 entre otros.
