Bob Carter. Born, raised and currently residing in Utah. Also lived in Alaska, Louisiana and Texas.

Retired. Work history: Computer programmer for BlueCross BlueShield, Alyeska Pipeline and Director of Data Processing for ARCO Oil and Gas Company. Past president of the Utah Association of Woodturners and served on the Board of Directors of the Utah DX Association (UDXA).

I started into ham radio in 2006, as my father (SK 2012, at 96) W7JUE said he was getting out...

I passed my Tech, General and CW, the end of May 2006 and then started seriously practicing code. Got my Extra in May 2007 WR7Q.  Fists #12886.

I do HF, CW, SSB, Digital and occasional QRP. Have received my WAZ CW, WAS, and DXCC.  Now just need 80m for 5BDXCC. Please help by updating your logs to LOTW.

Rig is an K3 Elecraft 100 watts, going thru an Ameritron ALS-1300 amp 1000 watts. Antenna is a SteppIR 3E 30/40 on a US Tower TX-455 crankup, at 60 feet. Also have a 540 foot Delta Loop Skywire, up about 25 feet, stretched out the back yard, across a canal and into two large trees in the neighbors field. Palstar BT1500A tuner for my loop. Recently put up an 68 foot 80m verticle with 4 sets of elevated radials.

My CW is now 25 wpm. I started QSO's in November 2008.

I appreciate your QSL's. I log all QSO's into LoTW, eQSL and ClubLog.
