Tech 3/12/2002 KD7QHP

General 3/3/2007 KE7LRS

Extra 4/7/2007 KZ2E, WT7K

If you're hearing me chances are I'm out in the field, mobile, running 100 watts with a longwire hung between trees.

On March 14, 2002 at the request of my wife KD7OJH, I was granted my Tech liscense.  My wife had earned her ticket the year before and wanted somebody to talk to so I prepared for my test.  Soon after passing I setup her Yaesu FT2400 in the QTH and was checking into local nets.  I began chatting on 2M through local repeaters using Echolink for the next 5 years.  When code was dropped I decided to try for my General.  As soon as I passed I rushed to HRO in Portland and brought home a Yeasu FT897 and hung a homebrew 40M dipole in the trees out back.  Now she has to put up with my nightly HF noise.

June 2008 I attended a week long session of the ARRL Teacher's Institute taught by Mark Spencer WA8SME Rocklin, CA.  I have been sharing with my students much of what was learned that summer.  I have been teaching 5th grade at Metolius Elementary for 9 years and teaching for 14.

Here are a few places I can be heard:
