I have been away from amateur radio for over 20 years. I worked for the past 16 years in Australia in
Tasmania as an IT Manager for local government. I moved back home to the states December 2011 permanently.

So now I am operating from my 3rd floor apartment with the G5RV Jr inside.

I am presently employed as an IT Network Administrator for Continental Midland in Park Forest IL.

Here's the G5RV Jr with the apex about in the center of the apartment. Absolutely no TVI or interference of any kind to the TV!

This is the 2m/70cm antenna pointing out the balcony door.

This is the receive wide-band discone used for scanning. Obviously it needs a better place to live!

This is the new homebrew PC I have built. It's Windows 7 experience rating is 7.3 out of 7.9. The specifications are:

  • ASUS P8Z77-V Pro Mainboard with Thunderbolt support
  • Intel i7 3770 3.4 GHz Microprocessor
  • 32 Gb 1600 MHz DDR3 Memory
  • 128 Gb Samsung 830 Solid State Drive (Windows 7)
  • 128 Gb M4 Solid State Drive (2nd OS)
  • Hitachi 2 Tb 7200 RPM SATA Drive (Data)
  • GeForce GTX 550 Ti Graphics with 1 Gb GDDR5
  • LG 10X Internal Bluray Write Drive
  • Power consumption with dual monitors, 112 watts

Some of you out there may recognize where the picture below was taken. This is me on a climb on the Fox Glacier in New Zealand!
