QSL via LOTW is preferred, but direct is OK (direct or ClubLog request).  Bureau is used but very, very slow of course.

Born in 1962 in Mount Airy, NC (better known as "Mayberry"), home of Andy Griffith. Now live about 10 miles away in "Mount Pilot." Licensed as KA4ZPF in 1982 (Novice and then General a few months later). Upgraded to Extra in 2009. Changed to vanity call WX4F in November 2010 (my interest in weather and my last name).  Also licensed FCC General Radiotelephone (former First Class Radiotelephone) in 1982 one day after upgrading to General.   Graduated from Surry Community College in 1982 in Electronics Engineering Technology.

Member of the Quarter Century Wireless Association (QCWA), the Smith Chart Amateur Radio Society (K4OO) in Raleigh, NC. and also an ARRL member.  Former member of the long-ago 70's-80's Mount Airy, NC "Piedmont Amateur Repeater Association" club for the old 146.97 machine on Chestnut Ridge (WR4ACJ and later WA4ZAS).

Ham station: Flex 5000, Alpha 8410 amp, Heil PR40 mike, SteppIR 3 element yagi, Heights Tower 61 feet tilt-over.  Also Icom IC-9100 for weak signal V-U and later for EME, as well as portable ops.   Also Flex 3000 for portable ops / backup, and shack RX only rig, using two bi-directional 480 foot beverage antenna systems.   A vertical SteppIR is used mainly for 75-80 and 60M, as well as back-up and general monitoring.
