I've been licensed since 1961 at age 14. I held the callsign K8DBW for many years until I moved to California in 1972 and obtained call W6PYX. I applied on the very first day of the vanity callsign program and was awarded my second callsign choice of WX6V. I am an avid DXer and contester. My DXCC count now stands at 328/345 confirmed and here's me after I received my 5BDXCC plaque in 2008. All 500 contacts were worked on low power (the amp was added later). My favorite contests are ARRL SS, CQ WPX, ARRL RTTY Roundup, ARRL Field Day, the CQ DX Marathon, and the ARRL 10 Meter Contest and I greatly prefer CW and RTTY over Phone. I currently belong to the Northern California Contest Club and the Mother Lode DX and Contesting Club. Still looking for 3Y (Bouvet), E3, FR/J, FR/T, FT5W, FT5Z, P5, and SV/A along with some QSLs for recently worked "new ones." I'm an Audit Manager for the California State Controller's Office at my day job. I'm also a CPA with an MBA in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati (1979). The current station setup consists of an Icom IC-765 powering aTen Tec Centurion amp. The antennas include a C-3E at 65', a 40-meter rotable dipole at 55', a 30 meter dipole at 45', and an Inverted L for 80. I QSL 100% to all cards received via the Bureau and load all contest QSOs to LOTW. Best of 73s and hope to see you in the pileups. Last modified: 2012-05-21 04:23:41, 1476 bytes cached
