3A/YO2MSB Monte Carlo activation! Between 05 and 12 of September 2014, I will be QRV in portable from Monte Carlo, most probable somewhere from the city's main harbour. An authorisation from the Monaco Department of Communications was already issued:

SOTA Marathon in August, 2014: between 11/08 and 16/08 I will be QRV from a list of summits located in the middle of Romania, as follows: Transalpina alpine road (YO/MC-052 Mohoru & YO/MC-050 Setea Mare), Transfagarasan alpine road (YO/MC-007 Vanatoarea lui Buteanu & YO/MC-049 Fantana), Bucegi mountains (YO/MC-009 Costila, YO/MC-006 Omu & YO/MC-008 Bucsoiu) and the outskirts of Brasov (YO/EC-252 Piatra Arsa, YO/EC-331 Spinarea Lunga & YO/EC-428 Lempes). Most of the summits will be 10 points activations, so keep an eye on SOTA cluster! Preferred band will be 20m and also 12m if the propagation allows. This marathon depends A LOT on good weather, will see what happens in that week on romanian mountains.

One day before Friedrichshafen 2014 (thursday 26/06/2014): DM/BW-348 Gehrenberg, DM/BW-349 Aacheck and DM/BW-350 Rinkenburg - DONE! - new association for me.

SOTA activations in May, 2014: successful activations only on 3 summits around Southern Europe, due to the bad weather. Each summit represents a new association activated by me:

  • tuesday 20.05 - S5/BR-024 Stari Tabor;
  • wednesday 21.05 - HB/TI-102 San Salvatore;
  • saturday 24.05 - I/LO-308 Monte Boletto.

Paper QSL's completed up to 01st of June, 2014 and spreaded already @ Friedrichshafen 2014 (most of EU federations with stands @ HamFest 2014). For DXCC without stand available @ Friedrichshafen, QSL's will be sent via the bureau.

"Being a Radio Ham is like a drug, once it's in your blood you never get rid of it." - ZS1RJQ

About me:

  • I am NOT a contest-man, I am NOT running for various awards, I enjoy exchanging QSL cards but NOT enjoy paying for them with "small contributions".
  • I like DX-ing, QRP-made QSO's, SOTA & portable activations, testing various ham radio equipments, constructing and calibrating antennas, and I am looking for more than "59 - 73" QSO's.
  • If you share my vision, let's make beautiful QSO's together, we deserve this.

  • Born in 1970 in the middle of the legendary Transsylvania, in the city of Targu Mures;
  • Since 1989 relocated in Timisoara, where I live today;
  • SWL since 1981 when I built my first antenna;
  • Ham Radio licensed starting from November 2010, after 15 years of wishes to do this;
  • SOTA activator & also chaser starting from August 2011;
  • SOTA associations activated until now: OE, YO, HA, S5, HB, I, DL;
  • Also working in QRP frequently;
  • Active especially on weekends, we can communicate in Romanian, English, Italian and a little in French.

QSL card policy:

  • QSL received via bureau: 100% response via bureau, twice a year;
  • QSL received direct: 100% response direct, next week;
  • 100% response to eQSL's, usually once a week;
  • no LOTW as time as they use that very complicated registration system;
  • daily update of qrz.com logbook;
  • SWL reports welcomed.
