Hello, many thanks for visiting this page!

Please visit also my online publication dedicated to amateur radio at http://yo4px.blogspot.ro (Google Translations available)

800 articles in practically all the facets of the hobby. A Google Translator is available on the top of all pages. The Index of the articles, ranged in seven comprehensive thematic chapters, is here. A «Best of ...» selection under the title «110 pages about radio» (110 articles, including about 520 A4-format pages, with text, videos, music and pictures) was burned on a CD and hundreds of copies were distributed free of charge among YO hams. The content can be downloaded for reproduction on CD from here. (No copyright issues, but any feedback would be highly appreciated.)

I am licensed since 1980 after 17 years of struggle with the former communist authorities and I have achieved "double" 8BDXCC (more than 200 entities on each of the eight bands), DXCC Mixed, CW, SSB and RTTY (RTTY DXCC No.131) using no more than 100 watts and simple antennae (dipoles, verticals). The Honor Roll plaque is on the wall since November 2012 after 30 years of DX hunting  (332 active entities confirmed) and I received the Challenge plaque in February 2013. I still need two entities for my CW Honor Roll. I am «Master Emeritus in Sport», the highest sport honor in Romania.

I am using now TEN TEC OMNI V as a base station and an FT-897 as a backup rig, for alternative activity from my countryside QTH and for 50 MHz. I enjoy CW DXing, but I am active occasionally in SSB and digital modes too.

The pictures are NOT from my base QTH, but while operating from the countryside, my alternative QTH, in the village Istria, 50 km. north of the main location Constanta, in the Natural Reserve of Danube Delta (YOFF-021)

I am a professional translator for Romanian, English, French, German and Hungarian, a writer and a journalist. I published in Romanian hundreds of articles about ham radio (own writings and translations) in magazines and on websites and a Conversation Guide for radio amateurs in 6 languages, available also online on my website. Besides the phrases in the six languages it contains their phonetical transcriptions into Romanian.

Three articles were published in English translation on several websites and magazines:

(published in the April 2010 edition of the CQ Magazine)

ERRARE HUMANUM EST (To err is human)

(published in the June 2010 edition of WorldRadio Online)

All three articles can be found now on my website at this address.

Educational amateur radio literature translated into Romanian:

"Operating Practices" by Mark Demeuleneere, ON4WW

"The New DXer's Handbook" by Bryce K. Anderson, K7UA

IARU HF International Emergency Operating Procedures

My QSL policy: I don't collect QSL cards these days. Also, I am NOT on eQSL, LoTW or in any QSL bureau system. If you need my card send a note with the details of our QSO to the above address, enclosing a self addressed envelope and sufficient funds to cover return postage (frais de reponse, Antwortspesen) (no IRCs please) and you will receive my card on the same way.

See you on the bands!

73 de Fery, YO4PX
