Operated by G3ZVW. QSL via G3ZVW (bureau or direct). My address is OK on QRZ.COM but NOT in most Callbooks.
If QSLing direct, please include a self addressed envelope and minimum US $2. UK stations may send a stamped addressed envelope. No IRCs please. I reply promptly to direct QSLs. Cards received direct but without sufficient funds for return postage will be replied to via the bureau.
Antennas: Mainly I use inverted-V dipoles (7-21MHz), but I have also used a vertical (7MHz/18MHz), a delta loop (21MHz), and a vertical doublet (14-28MHz). The 28MHz antenna I used for my 2015 trip was a vertical dipole with the feedpoint at just 15ft above ground level. 28MHz was in great shape and I worked the world with it. Literally!
Current radio: Icom IC-7000.
Previous radios: Yaesu FT-897 and Yaesu FT-450.
Thank you to everyone who had a QSO with me during my most recent trip (9-21 April 2015) and apologies to those who called but did not make it into the log. The pile-ups were huge, so some people just got buried.
At this time I have no further trips to Ascension planned.
HOW TO GET A QSO QUICK
Don't slow down the pile-up by calling out of turn!
If I give a part callsign and your callsign does NOT contain those letters, please stand by.
I will not work other callers until I have worked the station I am calling.
If people keep calling while I am trying to make a QSO I go QRT.
