ZL1ZLD New Year 2015 DX marathon

Franc ZL1SLO during his New Years Eve DX Marathon, 31 Dec 2014

Franc ZL1SLO during his New Years Eve DX marathon, 31 Dec 2014 – 1 Jan 2015

On the night of 31 December 2014 – 1 January 2015, amateur radio station ZL1ZLD at Musick Point rang in the new year with an incredible session of non-stop DX (long-distance communication).

For the second year in a row, MPRG’s veteran DXer Franc ZL1SLO took to the mic to see how many countries he could work in one session.

In the end, Franc bettered last year‘s total of 521 contacts in 68 countries (DXCC entities), notching up 538 contacts in 69 countries.
