ZL2JOperated by myself Les ZL2JU, and my friend Tony ZL2AGY. ZL2J is a very modest station operated from my home QTH, a rural hobby farmlet near Levin, a small town of aprox 20,000 people. Being rural there is adequate space for a few antennas if I relocate my wife's ponies. Our equipment - the rig is a K3, and the matching unit is MFJ. Output is around 400 watts from Tony's new KPA500 amplifier. An elderly laptop is used to drive the rig and log QSO's using TR4W software. The main antenna is a 40 metre quarter wave vertical, elevated, and runs six elevated radials and is fed with a length of hefty coax. We also have a multi-band dipole with open wire feeders, and at the moment each leg is 40m long and arranged as a vee-beam. We also have a vertical for 20m, another quarter wave also elevated with elevated radials. The contest at the moment is CQ WW, and looking forward to another weekend of contesting. I will QSL only if required, via buro. If a direct QSL is required, please supply adequate postage ($US2 or one current IRC) and return addressed envelope, otherwise the reply QSL will be sent via buro. 73, es hp to cu on the contests. Les & Tony
