The ZT1 prefix is a unique prefix at the time of issue and currently there is only one ZT1 station in South Africa.

This is a permanent call for use at the station of ZS1AFS and ZS1AFR.

Also, it is used for celebrating special events. Visiting amateurs who bring a copy of their current licence may operate this call.

The qsl cards show the yacht Spraydust that had to be abandonned mid-South Atlantic in February2011.

The call is always used during December until the twelfth day of Christmas to celebrate another Christmas after our mis-South Atlanticrescue.
