Greetings from Rhode Island, the smallest state in the USA.  I enjoy ragchewing and DXing on all HF bands. I especially love ARRL Field Day weekend and usually enter as a non-club Bravo class station from some remote wooded campsite.

The HF Station consists of an Icom IC-7000 and an Icom IC-735.  My HF antennas include a 135 foot doublet fed by ladder line and a 20 meter monoband elevated vertical ground-plane.  No amps &  no tower but plenty of tall pine trees to experiment with wire antennas !

VHF/UHF includes an Icom IC-2100H and an Icom IC-207 in the shack and the IC-208H while mobile.   You may hear me on several  2 meter and 440 repeaters in the Rhode Island area, especially 146.760 and the KA1RCI linked repeater network. I am vice president of the Rhode Island Amateur FM Repeater Service (RIAFMRS).

Besides amateur radio, I thoroughly enjoy monitoring HF/VHF/UHF communications outside the amateur bands such as Coast Guard/marine, Aeronautical/Air Traffic Control,  military, police, fire, and other emergency frequencies. I have several Bearcat scanners to support this activity.    I work as a public safety radio technician, specializing in systems engineering,  design, installation, and maintainance of radio systems for police and fire departments. I guess you could say that I am Radio-Active !  But I also enjoy the great outdoors including fishing, waterskiing, snow skiing, hiking, and camping. I love spending time at our family's lakeside cabin in Maine, our second home.

LASTLY BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY: I'm a true Born-Again Christian, and am active in a small independent Baptist Church. I got saved in 2000 which was the best thing that ever happened to me.
