This station is active during the International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekends from the small harbour town of Burry Port, in South Wales - UK. Activation of this light started in 2004. Burry Port Lighthouse (WAL-035, UK-0044) is part of the Millennium Coastal Park and marks the entrance to the only marina in Carmarthen Bay. By chance, Burry Port harbour was the landing place of Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly across the Atlantic, in 1928. For more information and photos of Burry Port, visit www.burryport.org. The station is operated by Mike Price, running less than 100W to various simple aerials, such as HF dipoles, LF wires and even mobile whips.
