Nicola Mastroviti - IT9XNM

Il 25 Settembre 2010, mentre era seduto alla sua amata radio, si è spento IT9XNM Nicola Mastroviti. Classe 1912, RT della prestigiosa Scuola del Varignano, Radiotelegrafista nella Regia Marina prima e durante la seconda guerra mondiale.

Nicola aveva riscoperto il suo grande amore per la radiotelegrafia negli anni '60 quando divenne radioamatore con il nominativo IT9XNM. Grazie alla"nuova rotta" aveva incontrato con piacere molti OM suoi ex colleghi RT di mare e delle stazioni costiere, molti allora ancora al lavoro, con i quali iniziò ad intrattenersi per lunghi QSO in telegrafia.

Nel 1984 ideò e fondò l'I.N.O.R.C. - Italian Naval Old Rhythmers Club, il sodalizio che riunì per la prima volta tutti i Radioamatori Naval italiani. Finalmente era nato il Club che mancava! Grazie a questa magnifica idea, nel nostro Paese si è venuto a creare uno dei più prestigiosi Club di Radiotelegrafisti al mondo.
Da allora il Club è cresciuto, annoverando centinaia di membri ex RT non solo italiani e aprendo negli anni '90 le porte anche agli OM non Naval.
Dopo quasi 30 anni dalla sua fondazione l'INORC, la sua "creatura", è sempre all'opera, promuovendo iniziative e incoraggiando sempre più l'impiego della radiotelegrafia sulle bande radioamatoriali.

Con Nicola non scompare solo un grande uomo ma viene a mancare un simbolo, un esempio, un emblema che per decenni ha rappresentato la radiotelegrafia nel nostro Paese; ma nei nostri tristi cuori, dove essa echeggia perenne, Nicola la rappresenterà per sempre.

L'INORC ha ricordato Nicola Mastroviti operando IRØXNM dal 15 al 21 Novembre 2010, anche durante il XXX° Contest INORC 2010.

Sono stati effettuati oltre 2.000 QSO, tutti in telegrafia.

Una QSL speciale sarà inviata via bureau a tutte le stazioni collegate.

Per QSL dirette includere una busta preaffrancata. Le QSL ricevute dirette ma senza busta preaffrancata verranno risposte via bureau.

The 25th september, while sitting in front his beloved radio set, passed away IT9XNM, Nicola Mastroviti. Born in 1912, trained as radio operator in the Italian Navy School of the “Varignano” (near La Spezia) served as radio telegraphyst in the Italian Royal Navy before and during the WW2.

Nicola discovered again his great love for the radiotelegraphy during the ‘60s when he became radioamateur with the call IT9XNM. Thanks to the ham radio activity he went in touch with Hams, former R/Os or collegues operators, many still in service at sea and at the coastal stations, with long ragchewing QSOs in CW.

In 1984 he founded the I.N.O.R.C. – Italian Naval Old Rhythmers Club. This Club gathered  for the first  time many italian Naval Radioamateurs. Thanks to this great idea in Italy arised one of  the most prestigious Radiotelegraphy Club of the world.

Since that time the Club growth up, with hundred of members former R/O, not only italians, and later including also italian, non Naval, Hams.

After about 30 years the I.N.O.R.C. is always active promoting the use of the radiotelegraphy on the ham bands. Nicola will be forever the symbol of the Italian Radiotelegraphy.

To remember Nicola Mastroviti, INORC operated IRØXNM from Nov. 15 to Nov. 21 also during the XXXth INORC CONTEST (20/21 Nov).
