What I'm operating as a station:

  • NooElec RTL-SDR R820T dongles and Ham-it-Up HF converter.
  • Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-850 USB digital/analog television receiver.
  • Powered USB with a Kensington SD100 docking station.
  • Yaesu FT-7800R, wide-receive, 2M/440/MARS/CAP
  • Kantronics KAM XL TNC
  • Powerwerx.com SS-30DV switching power supply.
  • AOR AR-8000 handheld scanner, 500k to 1.9 GHz, full coverage, all mode.
  • Wouxun KG-UV6D Pro
  • SIRIO SD 2000 Discone Antenna, 100 MHz-2 GHz. LMR-400 feedline.
  • Home-brew PC, Intel i7-870, Windows 7, Radeon HD6800, 16GB RAM, 250GB SSD, 2TB SATA, Dual-monitor.

During February 2014, I sold all my HF gear and now operate VHF+. I was feeling a bit burned out so thought I'd take a break for a couple years. Sometimes I'll miss transmitting on HF, but I am enjoying lots of new modes and applications. Mostly thanks to the RTL-SDR and software found here. Be sure to check out my YOUTUBE and Google+ pages for samples of what I love to do.

Thanks again for visiting.
