Greetings from Johnstown, NY

Locator:FN23ta ITU Region: 2
Latitude:43.023233 N ITU Zone: 8
Longitude:74.373298 W CQ Zone:5
ARRL Region:2 NNY TZ:EST/EDT

I was born in Panama City, in the Republic of Panama (HP/HO). I graduated from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA with a double major in Computer Engineering and Computer Science. Shortly after graduation, I was hired as a Systems Engineer, and moved to Upstate New York.

I was licensed as a "Tech" in Nov, 2008 then upgraded to "General" in March 2009. Finally, I upgraded to "Extra" in September 2011. I enjoy the digital modes, such as SSTV, PSK31 and APRS where you can find me using KC2UEZ-5 for my QTH and KC2UEZ-9 for my mobile. My main radio is a Kenwood TS-2000. My Antennas are: UVS-200 for 2m/70cm, Comet CHA-250B for 6m to 80m, 20m dipole and a sloper antenna for 160m.

I am a member of the K2JJI Tryon Amateur Radio Club located in Fulton Co, NY. I am also the webmaster for the club. Our website is http://k2jji.org. Our 2m repeater is K2JJI and is set to 146.700Mhz with no PL and negative offset. This repeater is also reachable via EchoLink on the node number:510372

For QSL exchanges, I prefer eQSL (eQSL.cc). My logs are instantaneously uploaded after every QSO. I also have real QSL cards that I would be happy to send to you, but I will be expecting one from you in return.

Besides Ham Radio, I am also interested on electronics, programming, video games (especially the HALO series), and caribbean music (SKA, Reggae, DUB and Rock Steady).

My QSL card:

Enjoying some DX after installing the Piexx enhanced digital board in the TS930. Designed by Chris WA3LDI, the digital board upgrade is a quality product! The G5RV performs amazingly well on all bands.

People will say there your friends and welcome you in, just to attack, abuse, mistreat you and feed you to the wolves. Just to gain some type of Acceptance from others. I don't need these people in my life and I need not talk to them either. I just can imagine that they treat their coworker and friend like this too.

Good Afternoon David, I would love to have a QSO with you over Echolink. I have wanted to get into ham radio for some time. After watching several of your YouTube videos, I finally went ahead and got my ticket back in May of 2011. I am now active with the Denton County ARES and Skywarn, and I am working towards my General license. 73's de KF5LDJ, Michael
