Hello to all Thanks for looking me up in QRZ! I've been an Amateur Radio Operator for over 20 years and have been dedicated to public service work for the SKYWARN program for the National Weather Service (NWS) in Taunton, Massachusetts and have spent a lot of time at the NWS Taunton office station, WX1BOX. I have also done much work in the Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) program as I've been the ARES Section Emergency Coordinator for over 7 years for Eastern Massachusetts. In the past several years, I've also been involved with the VoIP SKYWARN/Hurricane Net that supports the National Hurricane Center station, WX4NHC, where I've met a great group of people across the US and internationally and have been honored to support the WX4NHC coordinators in their mission to help save lives from hurricanes. Although I've become more focused in public service and emergency communications in recent times, I still "rag-chew" with Hams on local frequencies, EchoLink or on HF once in a while. I also like to rack up contacts on Field Day and enjoy just getting together with my Amateur Radio friends whenever time allows. When I was first licensed when I was 15 years old, I enjoyed DX and Packet and used to be involved more in the technical side of Amateur Radio. I still try to dabble in those pursuits when I can. Professionally, I work as a Manager/Principle Disk Drive Evaluation Engineer at EMC Corporation. I've been with EMC for over 16 years and have enjoyed my time there and my career. When I'm not at work or hamming it up, I spend a lot of time with family and friends, keep up with local sports teams, listen to music and try to enjoy other things in life. If you ever have any questions on Amateur Radio, SKYWARN, ARES or me personally, you can always email me. Take care and enjoy Amateur Radio!! 73,Rob-KD1CY.
