I became licensed back in 1996 after playing around with 11 meters for about 4 years, My elmer was a ham that I talked to on 38 LSB just about every night, I never did meet him. For HF/2m/440 FM I have a Yaesu FT-897D with the Heil HM-10 Dual mic, LDG AT-200Pro Autotuner. For antenna's(897) I have a homemade 80 meter Off-Center Fed dipole @ 30', a homemade Slim JIM @ 22', an A99 @ 30' for 10-15 meters and a Ventenna HFp for portable ops. For HT's I have a Wouxun KG-UVD1P and a Baofeng UV-5RC. For 2m/440 I have a Yaesu FT-8800R with a 17' Dual Band Collinear @ 30'. I also have a Shared Non Protected Repeater(SNPR) on 146.500 +1MHz with a 94.8pl. I am using two Motorola M120's running 10w in to a J-pole. Feel free to use it! I also have it connected to Echolink, N8MRC-R. I also play around with PSK31, I can usually be found on 14.070, 7.038 and 3583 + or - couple kc's. I have an Echolink Node(N8MRC-L) if it's up connect and see who's around. I also like trying out Contests, Esp the Michigan QSO party and my fav, Field Day. I am a member of Navy-Marine Corps MARS(NNN0AAP). I am a member of SATERN and Ionia County CERT. I am the NTS Coordinator for Ionia County RACES/ARES and an ARRL Accredited VE Liaison. I am a Net Control Op for Kent County Search & Rescue and also the President of the Riverside Radio Amateurs Club here in Ionia County.
