The Patriot Guard is an organization with no dues, no meetings and only one requirement; that you have and show unbiding respect for the solders of our military and their families. We come together onlywhen our presence is requested by an immediate family member of a solder.

The Patriot Guard Riders were formed in 2005 by a group of Kansas American Legion Riders in response to protestors demonstrating at military funerals. The PGR acts as a human shield between the protestors and the family of the fallen hero. The organizationspread quickly across the nation and now has 185,000 members world wide. Indiana PGR, a non-profit entity, was organized in late 2005. Please see our Mission Statement below.

The protestors are now largely a non-issue, but we continue and will continue to show our support to all members of the military, their families and veterans. Our primary mission remains military funerals which we participate in only at the request of the immediate family. We also will upon request attend funerals of veterans. We also arrange sendoffs and welcome home's for individual and groups of solders.

Indiana's first mission was for PFC Jonathan R. Pfender, 22 who was KIA December 30th, 2005 in Bayji, Iraq by an IED. The funeral took place in Evansville, Indiana. Johnathan's mother, Peggy Hammond is scheduled to be a guest operator during this event. To meet Peggy and her thoughts about the PGR, click on this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns-ILTdrriU

This special event station is in honor of PFC Pfender and all those who have given their all in the defense of our country.

For more information on the PGR please visit: www.indianapatriotguard.org orour national webpage, www.patriotguard.org

We only participate upon the request of the immediate family.

Indiana Patriot Guard Mission Statement

The Indiana Patriot Guard is a diverse group of citizens from across the State of Indiana. We have one thing in common, an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter what part of the State you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride a motorcycle. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family, which includes veterans.

Our priority and main mission objective is:
Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes and veterans, their families, and their communities.

We also do when required:
Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.

We accomplish all that we do through strictly legal and non-violent means.

To those of you who are currently serving at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.
