This DXpedition was not sponspored by any Organisation, Society or Club but was purely self funded by individual Ham Team !!! After successful event we do have many such claim, We thank the individuals who have sent Green Stamps along with their direct QSL which has helped us in a big way apart from printing and dispatch of QSL cards

We have received more than 475 Direct QSLs at USA and at INDIA as on 15th October 2012- We have got phillatilic valued stamps and for first time we have affixed forgery proof hologram !!! We did have great difficulty in sending replies from this remote location Since we are back in Bangalore we haveanswering all Emails, Some common answers - QSL info mentioned above is Correct, it is not a PO Box numberfor direct QSL and your QSO in VU7M Log query are answered after verification, soon the log would be made online. Already QSL cards are received in above address and even here at Bangalore. Total QSO's more than 5000 countries worked is also about 100 !!.

Anoop Thakur, DANICS, Deputy Collector, Minicoy for visiting VU7M stations inspite of his health, bad weather and it was nice to have the Staff and children of Navoodaya School for visit and knowing about ham radio. The Lighthouse Staff, Tuna Canning Centre Director and Staff for their hospatility and personal support for successful operation of VU7M.We have made a score of new friends at Minicoy. The VU7M became operational from 1300 UTC of 13th Aug 2012 with a modest station setup of FT757GX, FT840, FC700, with 5 band inverted Vees 10 meters from the sea face. The power used is around 40w and till 13:30 UTC of 14th August 2012 we have made about 700 QSOs with over one hundred US Canadian stations THANKS TO THE SOLAR ACTIVITY AND EXTREME INTEREST SHOWN BY DXers.

From 19th Aug we had added ICOM IC756 Pro II, LDG AT-600Pro, Home Brew Hex Beam 5 Band, Vertical Step IR for SSB operation.

With Special Permission from Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India vide No.L-14011/639/2010 Dated 26th July 2012 callsign VU7M has been allocated to represent India in International Lighthouse and Lightship Week 2012.

On behalf of Amatuer (Ham) Radio feternity we thank the Government of India and Union Territory of Lakshadweep for allowing this Special Event Station to represent our Countryto be established from 13th to 22nd August 2012 by a small group of Amateur (Ham) Radio volunteers of Bangalore Amateur Radio Club - VU2ARC who would be setting up humble HF station - the team left Bangalore to reach Kochi (Cochin) by Train and from Kochi by MV Arabian Sea (Ship Callsign AUVL) and returned back by MV Lakshadweep Sea (Ship Callsign AUVM) on 23rd August.
