I was first licensed as WN1MYK in 1970, and became WA1MYK when I upgraded from Novice to General. I got my present call in 1977 under a program similar to the present Vanity Callsign program. My primary ham activities these days are contesting and mobile VHF/UHF FM. I am a member of the Waltham Amateur Radio Association in Waltham, MA, and can most often be found on their 146.64 MHz repeater (Echolink Node490278, W1MHL-R). My home station consists of an Elecraft K3 and a dipole on the side of the condo. I'm keeping the IC-706MKIIG for 2M and 70cm and as a backup rig. When I want to be heard better, I do some contesting from K0TV in NH, usually the CQ WW DX CW Contest. I have done some "hamcation" type operations while on vacation with my wife, Irina:
(Are you detecting a pattern here?) I QSL 100% via LoTW. I also respond to traditional QSL cards, but must disclose that I have taken as long as 5 years to get a Round Tuit. Last modified: 2011-03-18 01:47:58, 2054 bytes fetched
