Latest news:

in 2012 I will be teaching at two important amateur radio events: Contest University at Dayton and DX University in Visalia. Hope to see you there.

The logs for XE1KK/HI8, November 2011, has been uploaded to LoTW.

I had the pleasure and honor to speak at the first Contest University Brazil in Porto Alegre in mid July 2011. I was active briefly from the event special event station: ZX3CTU. Thanks to the organizers and the CTU faculty: PY5EG, PY3MM, PY3DX, K1DG, W3LPL, K5ZD, LU8ADX, CX6VM, W9KNI, PY5CC, PP5JR, PY1NB and others. Anenlightening experience!

I was a team member of K3LR during the ARRL International DX Contest Phone 2011. A very impressive station with some of the best operators in the world. Thanks to Tim and the rest of the group. The current photo at QRZ.com is from this operation.

My CE3/XE1KK and YV5/XE1KK logs has been uploaded to LoTW and QSLs has been sent to the bureau. No QSL is need it in return.

Operated CQWW Phone 2010 as team member of the M2 at CE4CT's with top contesters of Chile and Argentina: Roberto CE4CT, Pedro CE3FZ, Fabián LU1AEE and Diego LU8ADX / AY8A. As expected conditions and "asados" were very good.

I was in Doha, Qatar, for the Regional Conference on Amateur Radio 2010 (RCAR 2010) during the first week of April 2010. Thanks to our good friends from QARS I was able to operate as guest operator of A71A, A71EL/M and A71CW making little more than 500 QSOs in total. Thanks to A71CV, A71EL, A71AN, A71AD and K5GN.

Personal Information:

I love DX. At the present I have 9 band DXCC and the highest DXCC Challange score in Mexico. Also DXCC on all modes: Mixed, SSB, CW, RTTY, Satellite and QRP.

Contesting is an activity I enjoy very much both as a single operator and as a member of a multi operator team like XE1RCS, HC8N, FP/VE7SV, ES9C, XX9C, 6G1KK, 4C2X, HC8A, PZ5YV, 6D2VHF, CE4CT, K3LR and PW5U during WRTC2006 in Brazil as capitain of "Team Mexico".

Also have been active from some islands in Mexico including Cozumel (NA-090) as 6H3KK , Isla Lobos (NA-221) first time activation as a team member of XF2RCS ,Tamalcab Island (NA-200) as XF3T team member and XE1KK/XF3 on Isla Mujeres (NA045) and XE1KK/XF1 on Isla La Partida and Isla Espíritu Santo (NA124).

I am a member, and the founding president, of Grupo DXXE a fine group of amateurs that includes Mexico’s top contesters and very active DXers. Also I am member of FMRE, Radio Club Satélite, BCDXC,the Galapagos Radio Sociedad, 4M5DX Group,RSGB, RAC, CTDXCC, EUDXF, Grupo DX Caracas, Araucaria DX Groupand life member from AMSAT and ARRL.

So far I have visited 121 DXCC entities and operate, from seriour expedition to a few QSOs, from nearly a third of them. Visit my travel list at the DXFC web site.

I am a very proud recipient of the Yasme Excelence Award.

At the present I am the Secretary of IARU Region 2 please visit our webpage www.iaru-r2.org.

You can also visit my profesional profile on LinkedIn.

Documents:

I keep track of the radio operations from XE-IOTAs and the list of the 50 MHz First QSOs beween Mexico and other DXCC entities. On the AMSAT website there is an Introduction to Satellites, in Spanish, that I wrote some years ago.

QSL information:

  • LoTW: Preferred method. If you are not a LoTW user please set up an account and we will both save time, money and energy confirming our QSOs. I update my log regularly so you can have the confirmation sometimes in less than 24 hours. Try it!
  • Direct: SAE + $2 (No IRCs please). For stations in the US you can send me a SASE with US postal stamp and I mail it back to you on my next trip to the US, usually every other month. As you can see direct QSLing is becoming more expensive every day, I insist you try LoTW.
  • Bureau:I have stop answering bureau cards. If you want a bureau card email me and I´ll send you one. You don´t need to send me your QSL card. I do email-bureau cards once a month so please be patient if you don't get an email confirmation immediately. All my expeditions are confirmed via LoTW and the bureau and you don't need to send me your card.
