QRZ is pleased to accept your digital image, photo or QSL card for
inclusion in our online database. Your uploaded picture will appear
on this website and quite possibly on a future edition of the
QRZ Ham Radio CDROM.
A few things you should know:
- Images are upload using the database update page.
- Each callsign in the database can have at most one picture.
- The system will automatically crop and/or resize (shrink) your image if necessary.
- The maximum upload size for your original image may not exceed 1 megabyte.
- The system will convert all images to JPEG (.jpg) format.
Editing Photos
Although there are a great many ways to resize and edit photos, that discussion
is left for the user to research. Still, there are a couple of commonly used
methods that you should know about. The first is the "Microsoft Photo Editor"
which comes with many versions of Windows. The second is just about any version
of Adobe Photoshop that you might have. What counts at QRZ is the final file size
which after cropping, etc., may not exceed 1 megabyte. Once the QRZ server
receives the image, it will be processed by the server and further resized
(automatically) if needed.
Our standard photo size is 400x300 pixels (width/height).
File Formats
Our system accepts .JPG (jpeg), .GIF, and .PNG formats. It will not accept files
Microsoft Word or Power Point. The database update page
will let you know if it can't process your image format. When in doubt, just give
it a try and see if it works.
Legal Stuff:
By submitting your photo or QSL card or image to QRZ
you explicitly waive any and all copyrights, compensation and/or
royalties for the use of the image. You also give QRZ unrestricted permission to
reproduce the image, in whole or in part, in any media.
