About the Note Board

The noteboard is a lightweight, user friendly system that lets ham members comment on other ham members pages. Every member has complete control over whom can post to his page, plus the ability to delete message old or unwanted notes.

First, some ground rules.

  • Only Ham members may have and/or post to the note boards
  • Only those callsign listings having an assigned QRZ manager may have a note board.
  • Each note board owner is responsible for moderating the content of their note board.
  • Note board owners have complete authority and may decide who can post to their board.
  • Material that is deemed offensive by the QRZ administrators may be removed without warning or notice.
  • Existing notes may be lost if the callsign changes, or if its manager resigns.
  • When a starting note is removed, all of its comments are also removed.
  • HTML codes are not permitted in notes.

How to administer your note board

  • Turn your note board on or off - You can access all of the settings for your note board by editing your callsign and choosing the Note Board / Friends option. To edit your page, first LOG IN and then click the Manage button at the top of the page. Then, select Edit and click Go next to your call sign.
  • To block another member from posting to your note board - Choose settings from the top of the note board and then add whomever you like to your Ignore List.
  • To Un-Block a member - go to the settings page and place a check mark next to their name, then click Unblock
  • To Block a Friend - place a check mark in the Ignore column then click Set Ignored.
  • To turn off the whole note board - remove the check mark next to Note Board enabled and then click Save Settings.
  • To allow all hams to post - turn on All Friends Mode
  • To add new friends - go to their noteboard and click on Click Here to join XXXX's Friend list.... Alternatively, they can do the same by clicking on your note board. Friendship is confirmed in the QRZ Forums by going to your Friends and Contacts page.
  • It isn't necessary to use the friends list - if you use All Friends Mode. This way, you can still block those you don't like while letting everyone else in.
