Hello and thanks for looking me up!  I have been licensed since 20th July 2007 and I have been Interested In radio since I was about 7 years old, mainly as a SWL and since then, my interest in radio has grown steadily.  I live In a small town called Strathaven which Is 41Km South East of the city of Glasgow and my QTH Is 205 metres above sea level. I enjoy receveing slow scan television pictures from the International Space Station and also from the AO - 51 satellite and some times on the HF bands.

I'm most active on all the HF bands as I don't use UHF/VHF that often apart from working satellites. On HF I particularly enjoy working 20 & 40 Metres when It's open and I particularyly enjoy working DX stations on all bands. I also enjoy working /AM, /MM & IOTA stations aswell as working some special event calls and DXpeditions. I may also be operateing /M from my car or /P while out walking - running QRP with my FT-817 on the hills of Central Scotland.

I also enjoy trying to work the following LEO-SATS with my FT-817 :- AO-27, AO-51, SO-50, & Internatonal Space Station (ISS), And the newly lauched Indian LEO-SAT :- Sumbandila Oscar 67 (SO-67). I have also worked all the other SSB satellites In recent months using a Yaesu FT-847. I use Ham Radio Deluxe software for satellite tracking and also as a logging programme for logging QSO's.

I will also be using a special call MA3YCG from time to time to celebreate Scottish homecomeing 2009 untill November 30th 2009 as Ofcom has allowed licenced amateures In Scotland a variation In there calls 'A' for Alba. For further Information on the event please see the following link... www.homecomingscotland.com  - My special QSL card will be sent via the burau to all stations who work the call. To view my online log for this call please see :-                  http://www.hrdlog.net/ViewLogbook.aspx?user=MA3YCG
