Mini-DXpedition - Raivavae Island (Australs, French Polynesia) - OC-114 - CQ Zone 32 - ITU Zone 63

Grid square BG66 - S23.85 x W147.66

Grant, KZ1W, and Rob, N7QT were on Raivavae Island on a suitcase mini-DXpeditionas TX5D between October 2 - 14th. We operated two stations with the new CrankIR portable antenna system from SteppIR, as well as Elecraft K3 transceivers and KPA500 amplifiers.

Our operational base was two bungalows located next to the beach on the north side of Raivavae Island, and less than 30 feet from the Raivavae lagoon. Our hosts were the delightful Emmy and Dennis, owners of the Tama Raivavae B&B.

Operations were on 80-10 meters using CW, SSB, and PSK. All "verticals on the beach" for antennas.

Total contacts, including dupes were 18663. Combined CW & SSB=17312, at least 7700 were SSB; PSK=1351; no RTTY.

See clublog.org for our final contact uploads, although the total clublog count does not agree with our N1MM logs, not sure why.

We'd like to thank our sponsors, Elecraft, SteppIR and the Western WA DX Club for helping to make this DXpedition possible.

Thanks to Stu, K6TU for establishing a propagation page for our DXpedition, see K6TU.net for additional propagation tools.
