Thank you for your interest in the 2015 Route 66 On The Air special event operations.  This year is our 16th year for you to re-live the ride along the "Mother Road", the road that made coast-to-coast travel possible.  From Chicago to L.A., we have 21 radio clubs in fixed and roving mobile stations scattered all along the route of Route 66, making contacts with old friends and new.  Each will have its own special QSL card that you can receive by sending a QSL card and a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE) to the host station (in our case, to W6H address above).

If you are a new ham that does not have a QSL, We still want to make sure you can confirm a contact with our station.  In this case, you can use http://www.radioQTH.net to make a nice card, make your own QSL on a notecard, or send us a letter with the following information:

  • To: W6H
  • From: (Your Call Sign)
  • Date of QSO and Time (Zulu / UTC / GMT)
  • Band
  • Mode
  • My RST signal report
  • Your Name and Address.

Please send an SASE with your QSL request.

Donations are appreciated to defray the costs of the special QSL card printing and to help cover the postage for those hams or SWLs that could not send an SASE, or those that may be on fixed incomes.

If you would like a QSL card from a previous year, please attach a "yellow stickie note" to the card with the year clearly stated, so that our overworked and nearsighted volunteers dont spend a lot of time looking for last year's contact in this year's log. We'll continue to provide past QSLs as long as our supply lasts.

If you need a card for a year that you could not bust our pile-ups, we can provide a card that is clearly marked as a "SPECIMEN" to fill in that empty spot on your wall. If you send a donation with the request, we'll apply it to our QSL printing and postage costs.

We are looking forward to this year's event and look forward to working you again.

Wishing you good luck and a "Clean Sweep"

73, Bill Ripley KY5Q and the New Mexico Rt-66-OTA team.
