Biografía de XE1GR

Adquirí mi primer licencia de radio aficionado el 3 de Julio de 1990. En 1991 empecé mi carrera en los barcos como oficial en radiocomunicaciones, graduado de la Academia naval de Rimouski (Institut Maritime du Québec) Rimouski, Québec; Canadá, Trabajé en petroleros, en varias compañías de crucero incluyendo MSV Club Med I y MSV Club Med II, desde 1999 trabajo para Royal Caribeean International como Ingeniero en electrónica de navegación y ahora a bordo del M/S Oasis of the Seas, a cargo de los equipos de navegación, comunicaciones, sistemas de seguridad como CCTV, detección de incendio etc.

Además de mi licencia de radio aficionado poseo una licencia profesional como radio operador de estac¡ones GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) para operar cualquier estación del sistema mundial de emergencia y seguridad en altamar (SMDSM) conforme a la convención internacional de 1988 para la salvaguarda de la vida humana en el mar (SOLAS) y a la Organización Marítima Internacional (IMO).
Mi estación principal se encuentra en Guadalajara, Jal. pero también opero Mobil maritima a partir del barco Oasis of the Seas y portable XE3 desde mi estación de Taxco, Gro.

El Oasis of the Seas es el único barco de la flota equipado con una estación de radioaficionado la cual es propia.
Navegamos por el Este y Oeste del mar Caribe, nuestro puerto principal es Ft-Lauderdale (Port Everglades), FL.
Como paso muchos meses al año navegando es más practico y mas seguro para mi recibir correspondencia con mi dirección de E.U. en Florida.

Trabajo las bandas de 40, 20, 17 y 15 metros en todos los modos, pero sobre todo en SSB y exprimentando en ESSB. Muy pronto estaré al aire en 6M a bordo del barco.

Otros hobbies: Buceo, motos, viajar, acampar & fotografía ahora probando la nueva Nikon D800 de 36.3 mega pixels.

Been licensed since 1990, I'm a former Radio officer, graduated from the Maritime Institute of Quebec in Rimouski and sailing since 1991.
Beside my ham radio license I'm in possession of a GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) under the Safety of Life at Sea Convention (SOLAS) 1988 and International Maritime Organization (IMO).
In operation at my three separate stations, Maritime mobile on board Oasis of the Seas, Main station in Guadalajara, Jalisco and Portable XE3 from my station in Taxco, Guerrero.
Since 2003 I held the position of Electronics Engineer for Royal Caribbean International, now on board world’s largest and most advanced cruise vessel M/S Oasis of the Seas.
Oasis of the Seas she’s the only cruise ship from Royal Caribbean International fleet equipped with a Ham radio station which the equipment and antennas belongs to me.
Sailing around the Eastern and Western Caribbean Sea from our home port, Port Everglades in Ft-Lauderdale, FL.
I work 40, 20, 17 & 15 Meter bands, mostly on SSB and enjoying ESSB, very soon I will be active in 6M band from my maritime mobile station.
Some other hobbies: Scuba diving, motorcycles, traveling, camping & photography now trying the new Nikon D800 36.3 mega pixels
