I have been a ham since Nov,1987. My first call was my novice KB6UMR. When I got my Technician Class License in Dec,87 my call became N6RDH, which I used for 22 years. Back in 2009 I became K6KWA and then in 2013 became AA6KA after upgrading to my Extra Class license. I have decided to try many of the other aspects of the hobby such as DSTAR,DMR,and IRLP. I frequent REF014C and REF001C on DSTAR and reflector 9250 (Western Reflector) on IRLP. My IRLP node is NODE #3325 on 223.660 PL 88.5 simplex (25 Watts) via an Alinco DR-235. I am approximatley 13 miles North of Sacramento and if you are in the area, feel free to use my node anytime. My DSTAR radios are an IC-2820 for DSTAR repeater work and an ID-880H for my DVAP here at home. I also have an ID-51A HT for DSTAR portable work as well. My DMR radios are two Tytera MD380's (One 2 meter the other 440) and a Connect Systems CS-700 which are used with a Shark open spot for my hotspot at home. You can also catch me on 147.195 N6ICW repeater from just about anywhere in the valley. So give me a call. My call is AA6KA. I am also a VE and if you want to get licensed or upgrade, contact me at aa6ka@outlook.com and I will be sure to hook you up with my VEC and point you in the right direction.
