Started as G6UYP in 1982 & passed the morse in 1989 at the Colchester Radio Rally and never had a morse contact since.
Love making & building radio projects as much as operating, so over the years have built the local 2m & 70cm voice repeaters, FSTV 13cm beacon & SSTV replays and UI-view nodes etc.
I am usually monitoring the local repeaters, (including the D-star gateway MB6DS on 144.8375Mhz) but my favorite band is always 10m and when its open I try to spend some time on the radio.
My Shack radio is a TS2000 for VHF / UHF and all HF bands as well as using it for the data modes like UI-view, easypal, packet, RTTY and JT65.
I have a collinear for 2 / 70cm FM and 6m / 15m / 20m LFA dipole array as I try to enter the SSB & data contests.
For 10m I have a 5/8 wave vertical and my LFA Dipoles for HF connected to the TS2000 via a Expert 1K-FA amplifier.
I operate 10m SSB mobile whilst driving around the south east coast
